I have been waiting patiently to hear from Kindle Singles since I submitted my short story fiction for consideration on June 2, 2017. Unfortunately, as of today, I have not heard anything yet. I checked their website and found this:
Kindle Singles is not accepting unsolicited manuscripts at this time. Our editors will respond to all submissions currently in the queue as of June 22nd, 2017.
I don’t know about you but waiting for days, weeks, and months to hear back from Kindle Singles caused major anxiety on my part. Their average response time, according to their submission guidelines, was six weeks. I believe thirteen weeks is a fairly reasonable amount of time to wait on a reply. At this point, I don’t care if it was rejected or not accepted for publication. Just let me know already. lol.
I think it’s time to move on.
Last night, I enrolled those five short stories to KDP Select. What a feeling that was to finally hit the “publish” button. This is a series and planned to give the first book for free. I was contemplating if I should submit to Smashwords, and other on-line retailers, or even to Wattpad, but I decided to give it a try first and go exclusive with KDP Select for 90 days. It’ll give me some time to breath and relax. I know it’s going to be a bumpy ride.I need a clear head to think of ways to promote my books.
How about you? Have you submitted to Kindle Singles and still waiting?
